In the attempt to get a new camera, I have been searching for a replacement of my Nikon d5000 that would have the same incredible performance, and at a reasonable price. But after searching and searching for something else that would fit these specific qualifications, I decided to stick with it, since it is actually a really great camera!
The d5000 is surprisingly affordable for all the functions it offers, and I have to say I just became far too attached to the swivel-screen to let that feature go, as most of the other DSLR cameras at similar price ranges didn’t have this.
However, upon trying to find a lens, I looked and looked for one that would offer a bit better quality in the depth-of-field shots that I take for fashion pictures, as the lens I had been using was good, but not quite what I had wanted. The highest ranked lens for this at an f-stop of 1.4 was the sigma 50mm.
And so, after reading various articles and posts about how these two are a great pair, I went ahead and ordered it, only to find that this lens will not mount on the d5000 body! Noooooooooooooo!
So…one solution might be to get an adapter…but….then the auto-focus feature won’t work, which I need for self portraiture using a remote. aghhhhhh. Today I am setting out to find a new lens, and I may end up settling for the Nikkor 50mm 1.4 AF-S (which is almost just as good, but has lesser quality depth of field than the Sigma).
Ugh. Oh well…Hopefully this will all work out eventually! I will keep you posted.
